Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, I graduated from the Higher Institute of Industrial Design with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1993. I moved to South Florida a few years later, where I continue to live and work.
I have been working as a graphic designer for the past 15 years. It was not until I was asked to create a pattern for a shampoo cape in the professional beauty industry that I discovered my love for pattern design. It was such a huge success that from that moment on, I was commissioned repeatedly to create patterns for apparel, textiles and packaging.
I draw my inspiration from many different sources. I always have a sketchbook within arm’s distance. Although I have worked in several areas of design, I feel a deep connection with pattern design because it allows me to express myself more freely.
